Federation of Youth Clubs of Armenia, in cooperation with its partner organizations, Rural Youth Europe and Finnish 4H calls for participants for the upcoming seminar "Media Crossroads" in Finland!
Aim The aim of “Media Crossroads” is to strengthen youth support at rural NGOs regarding media literacy, critical thinking and participative media. Objectives • To gain competences to support youth regarding media literacy, critical thinking and effective and respectful interaction in media • To gain knowledge about the types, role, power and risks of media • To receive information and make plans for how NGOs can use digital media and technology for media education and improved communication The seminar is facilitated by using non-formal educational methods, where participants will be actively participating in the sessions and discuss their views and experiences on the topic. The sessions include a variety of methods such as group work and visits of experts. Programme The programme of the week includes workshops, study visits and evening activities. The full programme will be provided to the chosen participants before the seminar. The event will take place in Espoo, Finland, at Solvalla Sports Institution. All possible dietary restrictions are asked to be informed at the application form. Participant profile We are looking for participants who are: • Interested in working on the seminar’s aim and objectives, • Motivated to develop their knowledge and skills and to share their experiences with other participants, • Between 18 and 30 years of age • Able to participate in English • Able to attend for the full duration of the course. No previous international experience is needed for participation. Expenses Participation fee: The participation fee is 75€, which covers accommodation and food during the event. Travel costs: Each participant is responsible for booking his/her own tickets to the seminar. The travel reimbursement paid out is up to EUR 125.
